Styled Shoot – Midsummer

Styled Shoot – Midsummer

Lana and I met by happy accident – and we turned our chance meeting into an opportunity to create magic together! Lana had always wanted to shoot a wedding at Rose Valley Lodge, and after my initial site visit there, I was in love too. Our vision for a midsummer May Day celebration really came to life when Gracie Myers joined our collaboration team. We took inspiration from the traditional European May Day festivities, in elements like baby’s breath, colourful ribbons, flower crowns, gold animal figures, decadent fruit trays, a wildflower bouquet and a 3-foot balloon. Our real life couple were the perfect models and our flower girls couldn’t have been cuter, dancing around the Maypole with bubbles floating in the air. Every single element of this day was dreamlike. The décor and flowers were from Helium Highs and it was a treat to work with my mom and her business partner, Julie, who are creative geniuses. The shoot could not have come together without their inspired work. Andrea from Luxy Chair was kind enough to lend her gorgeous Dior chairs to our table setting. The details by Amy Sylvia Designs added that special touch. A special thanks goes to Unveiled Bridal Boutique for the beautiful wardrobe. Several times during the shoot, we stopped to comment on how incredible the day was. You’ll see what I mean.. xo
