Styled Shoot – Something Blue

Styled Shoot – Something Blue

The concept behind our shoot was entirely inspired by the gorgeous carpeting in the ballroom of the Delta Hotel in Thunder Bay. The hotel is located at the marina and the carpeting alludes to crashing waves, open skies, and storms on Lake Superior – all in bright blue hues that grab your attention. So, “Something Blue” was a cheeky nod to the wedding tradition, while also showcasing the carpeting, which is truly a work of art. We wanted to capture the elegance and glamour of the Delta hotel, with a touch of feminine romance. Our bride/model Danielle was the perfect muse and Dana was an expert at capturing several “wow” moments. The most memorable photo is of Danielle lying back on the carpeting with her wedding gown billowed around her like a cloud in a bright blue sky. Beyond breathtaking. A favourite detail was the agate place cards, as a nod to the lines in the carpeting. The beautiful cookies and cake were also inspired by the natural elements surrounding the hotel – like the waves on Lake Superior. With three bridal looks and multiple locations within the hotel, this was an ambitious concept. It is always such a joy to collaborate with local vendors to create beauty and art. I’m in awe of the images Dana captured. See for yourself… xo
